The Challenge
Call it what you want. Videography. Film making. Cinematography. The truth is the only thing that matters is story. It can be a how-to video for a product or an artist’s life story on film – this goes for all disciplines that we engage in from design to directing. It starts with caring about the story like nothing else matters and ends with passing as much of this on to the audience as we can.
Deep discussions move on to mood boards before finally hand-sketched story boards lead us into production in order to capture the essence of a tale. When production begins we’re at home anywhere: an in-studio film set, run-and-gun in the wild or on-site interviews and podcasts. We pull a dedicated crew and studio gear line-up together to match any production, while keeping the passion where it needs to be.
What counts
We see surprise at what creating a scene actually looks like on the ground. Often it’s a case of less is more – the least amount of gear and setup between your concept and the final film, the more natural the result with the uninitiated in front of camera, leaving room for the spontaneous.
Sometimes it’s a 4-hour setup with studio lighting in a controlled environment to create the perfect 10-second promotional tool that will fly around the world of digital media. It answers the common catch twenty two of “I don’t get why no one else is doing this.” versus “Why isn’t it as easy as it looks?”
The simple answer is that these moments are tailor-made and hand-crafted, and it’s what we do best.
